<aside> 💡 The American dream is the belief that anyone, regardless of where they were born or what class they were born into, can attain their own version of success in a society in which upward mobility is possible for everyone. The American dream is believed to be achieved through sacrifice, risk-taking, and hard work, rather than by chance

American dream" was coined in a best-selling book in 1931 titled Epic of America.—> To succeed in reaching their personall dreams and hopes; "Is there another reason than money to imigrate to the United States. What is the specific American of that Dream".
But today the people's goals as well as America has changed; Aren't satisfied with: a suitable house, a good job and a family. There are always more and more wishes.
"The level at which people feel satisfied is getting higher and higher."
"Pah, doesn't matter. I'll go west and take me a new piece of land." isn't possible to say anymore
Is the American Dream dead?
Impossible for everyone to struggle to get whatever they visualize AND the product is a superior life for everybody
American Dream is associated with: freedom and opportunity of gaining wealth, fame, power, glory, and happiness
AD is only possible for a small amount of people —> It does matter who has which parents when it comes to which of these few can achieve the dream
Idea of success is now measured by the material wealth
The AD is still alive, but only in the minds of those citizens who have the resources to fulfil the definition of success, namely, material wealth
"At the first impression the American Aream is..."
Such as
"If you take a closer look..."
